I am sad to announce that we have lost a great clubman.

Kev 'the Fox' Flaherty unexpectedly passed away November 16.

He is survived by his wife and two children who have extend an invitation to the funeral to be held on December 5th at the Holy Family Church in Gowrie at 11am. (image attached with details)

Kev 'the Fox' was a right handed batsmen and bowled right arm off-spin who was a member of the inaugural First Grade side for Tuggeranong Valley and continued playing for the first 11 seasons the club played in grade cricket, all in First Grade. His greatest trait was his willingness to share his knowledge and skills with anyone willing to learn.

He also played a First Class match for Warwickshire against Cambridge University at Edgbaston in 1969. He did not record a batting innings however bowled 36 overs for the match recording 4 wickets at an average of 26.75.

Kev was also a board member of Cricket ACT for a number of years, and is a life member of Cricket ACT, Life member of TVCC, served on the committee in various roles for 11 years, including Senior Vice President, Chair of the Senior Committee and a continuing advisory role over the years, including to our current president John Evans over the past 4 years. As a sign of respect and to farewell a club mate all players will wear a black armband for this weekend's matches.

"We didn't realise we were making memories, we just knew we were having fun" anonymous.

I will share a memory from the book Cricket in the Valley written by Celine Hampson of Kev after winning the 1st Grade flag for TVCC against Queanbeyan, Kev "the Fox" said it perfectly while sliding down the counter at Kambah Indoor Centre yelling "we won the f%$&ing flag!"
